About Rev. M. D. Kelly
Reverend Milton D. Kelly
We were all created for a purpose. Identifying that purpose and pursuing it is among the greatest achievements of mankind; for in so doing, God is glorified, it benefits us and others as well.
The track record left by the late Pastor Milton D. Kelly is a testimony that he found his purpose and walked in it. His primary purpose was to establish and maintain a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. This he did by repenting of his sins, being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. Having done so, a wide door was opened providing opportunities to impact many lives in a positive way at Pentecostal Tabernacle, his home church: Abundant Life Tabernacle where he served as pastor, and beyond.
Of course, walking in one’s purpose does not bring freedom from challenges and mistakes, but the continued pursuit of that purpose lends to victory. As we reflect on the life of Pastor M. D. Kelly, we find someone who pursued vigorously and so attained victory. This is evidenced by the lives that were enhanced spiritually through his ministry of the Word, both in the pulpit and in the Sunday School classroom. It is shown through his leadership of the then PenTab Band which participated in the ministry of music in the assembly. His legacy lives in the lives of those who he encouraged and helped to both identify and pursue their own purposes. Pastor Kelly, we salute you. We believe that you have run well.
As we grieve at his transition, we are aware that “memories don’t leave like people do” so we who have been impacted by him should live with the precious memories he has left us. Our faith in God is still strong. We understand that the Lord giveth and that He taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Sail on our beloved, husband, daddy, grandpa, and friend.
